Our Mission

Yellow Creek Baptist Church exists to glorify God by bringing the lost to Christ, connecting the unchurched to church, and maturing the churched in their faith.

How Do I Meet People?

Yellow Creek Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday night, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Class teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction.

Women of the Creek

Yellow Creek Women have various opportunities of interaction.  Our women attend women conferences local and afar.  They participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  These projects provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men of the Creek

Yellow Creek Men have various opportunities of interaction.  Our men attend conferences local and afar.  They also participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  Men’s Ministry meetings to interact and discuss the growth of our church and ways to expand the church family.

Kitchen Kids

Once you get past fifty, sixty, etc.,  the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Kitchen Kids of Yellow Creek provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.

Give

– Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. KJV

Verse of the Day

Daily Devotion

By:  Bro. Bob Maynard

10 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:16 NASB  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him.

I want you to realize who this verse is talking about.  It is very, VERY important to realize that this verse is NOT talking about God the Father.  It is …

9 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:15 NASB  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

Whether you believe it or not, this is a VERY important scripture.  Why?  Because it not only tells us who Jesus is, it also tells us what God is.  God is invisible.  Period.  No if, ands or buts about it.  God is invisible.  T …

8 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:14 NASB  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Who is this verse referring to?  Why of course, our blessed Savior and Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ.  We know this for two reasons:  First, there is no other person in whom we have redemption and Second, He is the only one who can give us forgiveness of sins.

7 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:13 NASB  For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

With this verse we start on a journey that exalts the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who is holy, righteous and pure.  Paul was led by the Holy Spirit to pen these fine words down through the end of the chapter at verse 29.  That’s 16 ve …

6 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:12 NASB  giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

The complete thought for the first phrase of this verse actually comes from the previous verse which says: Colossians 1:11 NASB  strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyous …

5 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:11 NASB  strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously

You have to ask yourself these questions: How did we get to this verse?  What is the basis for these thoughts? How can a Christian get these qualities in their lives?  Well, the answer comes from the previous three verses:

4 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:10 NASB  so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

If you remember, this verse is a direct result of the previous two verses:
Colossians 1:8-9 NASB
(8)  and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.
(9)  For this …

3 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:9 NASB  For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

First question: When our VOTD says: For this reason also, we have to ask: For what reason?  Here is the reason: Paul had heard a …

2 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:8 NASB  and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.

The very first question that comes to our mind when we read this VOTD is: Who does the he refer to?  I know that you know this but I feel compelled to say it just so that you know it in the future.  If the pronoun “he” refers to God or Jesus or the Holy Spirit, it w …

1 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:7 NASB  just as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf,

This is one of the verses that indicates that Paul might not have ever visited Colossae when he wrote this letter.  We know that from this verse that they learned it, the gospel, the good news, from Epaphras
