Our Mission

Yellow Creek Baptist Church exists to glorify God by bringing the lost to Christ, connecting the unchurched to church, and maturing the churched in their faith.

How Do I Meet People?

Yellow Creek Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday night, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Class teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction.

Women of the Creek

Yellow Creek Women have various opportunities of interaction.  Our women attend women conferences local and afar.  They participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  These projects provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men of the Creek

Yellow Creek Men have various opportunities of interaction.  Our men attend conferences local and afar.  They also participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  Men’s Ministry meetings to interact and discuss the growth of our church and ways to expand the church family.

Kitchen Kids

Once you get past fifty, sixty, etc.,  the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Kitchen Kids of Yellow Creek provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.

– Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. KJV

Verse of the Day

Daily Devotion

By:  Bro. Bob Maynard

1 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:8 NASB  See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Do you have a GPS?  Has it ever led you astray?  Mine has.  When we were traveling and in a strange city, it led us down a dead end street.  Just …

31 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:7 NASB  having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

As you can tell by the first word of our VOTD, we need to put it in context by looking at the previous verse to get the complete thought.  In fact, let’s look at both verses together:  Colossians 2: …

30 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:6 NASB  Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

Some verses in the Bible speak to our needs in every situation.  They are the gemstones in the scriptures that can lighten our loads, put a spring in our steps and point us to joy and truth.  And such we have in today’s VOTD.  First, let me encourage you to memorize this …

29 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:5 NASB  For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ.

I want us to focus on one word in this VOTD.  Can you guess which word?  And why would I want us to focus on just one word?  Well, for me the whole verse is about the one word and …

28 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:4 NASB  I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument.

Have you ever been “sold” something that you didn’t need or want but you bought it anyway?  I know I have and probably you have to.  So, as you think back about that experience, ask yourself: Why did I do that?  Why did I buy that?  What was my motivation?  A …

27 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:3 NASB  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

In order to get the complete meaning of this verse, we need to pick up the last few words of the previous verse, which are Colossians 2:2 NASB  … that is, Christ Himself, Colossians 2:3 NASB  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  So we can say w …

26 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:2 NASB  that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,

Here in this VOTD is what Paul was struggling with in prayer for all the Christians in Colossae and Laodicea an …

25 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:1 NASB  For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face,

As I have indicated in the past, I say now again that Paul may have never visited the small town of Colossae.  And one of the proof text is in this verse when he says: and for all those who have n …

24 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:29 NASB  For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

This verse, like a lot of the verses that we look at, immediately bring up questions to our mind.  Why?  Because when we look at them in isolation, by themselves, without any background or context, we have to ask ourselves, what does it mean when Paul starts …

23 October 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 1:28 NASB  We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

Your new life in the Lord Jesus Christ… It is all about Him…!!!  This verse say it all… We proclaim Him.  What does that mean?  What does it mean to proclaim?  Some of the t …
