Our Mission

Yellow Creek Baptist Church exists to glorify God by bringing the lost to Christ, connecting the unchurched to church, and maturing the churched in their faith.

How Do I Meet People?

Yellow Creek Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday night, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Class teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction.

Women of the Creek

Yellow Creek Women have various opportunities of interaction.  Our women attend women conferences local and afar.  They participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  These projects provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men of the Creek

Yellow Creek Men have various opportunities of interaction.  Our men attend conferences local and afar.  They also participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  Men’s Ministry meetings to interact and discuss the growth of our church and ways to expand the church family.

Kitchen Kids

Once you get past fifty, sixty, etc.,  the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Kitchen Kids of Yellow Creek provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.

– Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. KJV

Verse of the Day

Daily Devotion

By:  Bro. Bob Maynard

11 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:17 NASB  things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Let’s think about this verse in what it is saying about what is to come.  The Bible tells us about the future. The Revelation to the Apostle John is all about the future and what is to come in the end days.  But I want us to think beyond even that. …

10 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:16 NASB  Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day

The very first question to ask for our VOTD is: Why?  Why is no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day?  And to get the answer, we have …

9 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:15 NASB  When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Let me see if I can add a little bit of clarity to this verse so that we can know who and what it is talking about.  I believe the best way to do that is to let us read it from the Amplified Bible: Colossians 2:15 AMP  When …

8 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:14 NASB  having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

What are you thankful for?  When you look at your life, your mate, your accomplishments, what are you thankful for?  And better yet, to whom are you thankful?  None …

7 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:13 NASB  When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

I want us to focus on what this verse means.  This verse is not talking about a physical event but spiritual happening.  We as human beings are not only physical beings but we are also spiritual …

6 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:12 NASB  having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

For a Christ-believing born-again Christian, this verse is full of symbolism in relationship to our old life in the flesh and our new life in the Spirit.  First it pictures your old life lived in the flesh as be …

5 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:11 NASB  and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;

I would like for us to think about just one little short phrase in this VOTD.  I want us to think about the phrase in Him.  Why?  Because we have seen this phrase repeatedly in …

4 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:10 NASB  and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

Let’s review just a little bit.  We are still talking about the subject of being Alive in Christ:  Colossians 2:6-9 NASB
(6)  Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
(7)  having been firmly rooted and now …

3 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Sorry, no VOTD today.  Due to technical difficulties with an update to my electronic Bible program, I will not be able to send out the VOTD today.  I should be able to start sending it out again tomorrow.

Yours in Christ,
Bob Maynard

2 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:9 NASB  For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,

Did you have a hero in your childhood?  When you were growing up, did you have someone you looked up to, admired and even worshiped?  We are talking about a wide range of possibilities here.  It didn’t have to be a real person or it could have been so some sports figure or even a …
