Our Mission

Yellow Creek Baptist Church exists to glorify God by bringing the lost to Christ, connecting the unchurched to church, and maturing the churched in their faith.

How Do I Meet People?

Yellow Creek Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday night, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Class teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction.

Women of the Creek

Yellow Creek Women have various opportunities of interaction.  Our women attend women conferences local and afar.  They participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  These projects provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men of the Creek

Yellow Creek Men have various opportunities of interaction.  Our men attend conferences local and afar.  They also participate in our annual food drive, and clothing drive, located in our community.  Men’s Ministry meetings to interact and discuss the growth of our church and ways to expand the church family.

Kitchen Kids

Once you get past fifty, sixty, etc.,  the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Kitchen Kids of Yellow Creek provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.

– Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. KJV

Verse of the Day

Daily Devotion

By:  Bro. Bob Maynard

18 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:23 NASB  These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.

This verse states the heart of the problem when it comes to man’s commandments of: “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”  (Colossians 2:21 NASB).

17 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:22 NASB  (which all refer to things destined to perish with use); in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men?

First, we need to remember the context of this verse.  I comes on the heels of these two verses:
Colossians 2:20-21 NASB
(20)  If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you w …

16 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:21 NASB  “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”

In almost everything there is a positive and a negative.  When we think about this VOTD we normally think about it in negative terms.  And “rightly so” because that is how it is meant when Paul wrote it because the previous verse and our VOTD says: Colossians 2:20-21 NASB  If you have died wi …

15 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:20 NASB  If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as,

This verse and the next verse are one continuous thought: Colossians 2:21 NASB  “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”  It is hard to separate them and I will try to deal with …

14 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:19 NASB  and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.

So that we get a proper picture of this verse, we first need to define who it is that it is talking about when it uses the phrase not holding fast to the head.  Who is the h …

13 November 2016 Verse of the Day

I am sorry but there is no Verse of the day today.  I am not feeling well today.  Pray for me and hopefully I can get the VOTD done tomorrow.
Yours in Christ,
Bob Maynard

12 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:18 NASB  Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind,

To understand what this verse is saying to us, first we have to understand what it means when it uses the phrase: your prize.  What does it mean when …

11 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:17 NASB  things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Let’s think about this verse in what it is saying about what is to come.  The Bible tells us about the future. The Revelation to the Apostle John is all about the future and what is to come in the end days.  But I want us to think beyond even that. …

10 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:16 NASB  Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day

The very first question to ask for our VOTD is: Why?  Why is no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day?  And to get the answer, we have …

9 November 2016 Verse of the Day

Colossians 2:15 NASB  When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Let me see if I can add a little bit of clarity to this verse so that we can know who and what it is talking about.  I believe the best way to do that is to let us read it from the Amplified Bible: Colossians 2:15 AMP  When …
