My name is Josh Bateman, my wife Kristy and I met in 1999 we have a daughter Alyssa. I was saved as an audt in 2014. We have been members of YCBC since 2014. Our passion as a family is to serve God and our church and grow in our faith. To be honest I am just a normal ordinary man. I have worked in the construction industry my whole life. I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with the family. Although I’ve messed up many times in my life, as of June 15, 2014 the man in the mirror has been forever changed, and I owe it all to our lord. So i encourage you to come visit us at Yellow Creek where you can just be yourself and let God handle the rest.

Shane Moore, Deacon Chair

Hello Yellow Creek, me and my family have been members at Yellow Creek since it was the “little church” on Bryant Hollow Road. I serve as an adult Sunday school teacher, while also having a great passion for Men’s Ministry. Some other things that I enjoy are hunting and fishing, from my view being out in God’s creation is one of the closest ways to connect with him! I also enjoy reading, sports, and being at home with my family.  Julie and I have two wonderful children, Avery (13) and Benton (11). Thank you Yellow Creek family, there is no greater calling than serving God and my fellow man, thanks again for allowing me to serve you and our Lord!!

Our Core Values

  • Godly Leadership – We believe Christ, as the head of the church, calls and gifts people to serve and lead His flock.
  • Bible Centered Teaching and Preaching – We believe Bible centered teaching and preaching is the catalyst to change lives and strengthen people; it reveals what to believe and how to live.  (Acts 2:42;  2 Timothy 2:2;  3:14-17;  4:2;  2 Peter 2:2)
  • Christian Education – We believe people of all ages should be taught the Word of God.
  • Prayer – We believe in the power of individual and corporate prayer, our lifeline to the Father.  (Hebrews 4:14-16)
  • Evangelism and The Great Commission – We believe as followers of Christ, we are to fulfill the Great Commission by spreading the gospel of hope to all people, helping them to connect to a local church, and maturing them in the faith.  (Matthew 28:18-20)
  • Family – We believe the Lord values families and intends for them to be an expression of His grace, mercy and love to the world.
  • Praise and Worship – We believe we were created to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth with other believers and in our everyday lives.  (John 4:24;  Acts 2:42-43, 46)
  • Giving and Tithing  We believe every believer should give tithes to the local church and offerings to other Christian endeavors as God provides.
  • People  We believe all people are important to God and as God’s people we should value and practice Christ-like relationships.
  • Fellowship/Community – We believe all believers should belong to a local church where God’s people mutually encourage and support one another in love.

Our Vision Statement

We envision a church that makes a difference in the lives of people in our ministry area and throughout the world.

  • We envision a church where the hurting, depressed, discouraged, and confused can find help, forgiveness, acceptance, love, hope, and meaning for their lives.
  • We envision a church where people experience the life changing power of God through meaningful, exciting, and enthusiastic worship and relevant, dynamic biblical preaching.
  • We envision a church where people possess a strong, growing love for God and one another and have a passionate desire to grow in Christ daily.
  • We envision a church where Sunday School classes and other small groups provide the primary foundation ministries to teach the Bible to all ages, reach the lost and unchurched, minister to the needs of the people, and enhance and strengthen fellowship among the church.
  • We envision a church that helps her people to discover their talents and gifts and equips them to be active servants in ministry.
  • We envision a church where young people hear the truth of God’s word, experience the love of God, and begin to discover God’s purpose for their lives.
  • We envision a church where her members experience, first hand, the growth of God’s kingdom through personally witnessing and sharing the gospel with all people and by being actively involved in starting new churches throughout the world.
  • We envision a church that financially supports world mission causes and encourages and supports her members to be actively and passionately involved in missions in her community and throughout the world.
  • We envision a church where families are strengthened so that parents can pass their faith along to their children.
  • We envision a church where God’s people experience financial direction and freedom as they are equipped to follow sound principles of biblical stewardship.
  • We envision a church that discovers the provision of Godly leadership for her ministries by faithfully following the Word of God and earnestly seeking the Lord Jesus Christ.
